Welcome to the Wild Wasteland where you can find the pagan within yourself. Here you will find the unique, unusual pagan resources that you did not know you needed. Our Crone-ish wisdom will help guide you to the information that will help you realize the path you desire. Stir a cup of your favorite magical brew, find a place where you can relax, and settle in to discover all that the Pagans of the Wild Wasteland have to offer.

The Wild Wasteland is vast and filled with answers to the more uncommon pagan-related questions. The Crones who reside here strive to find bizarre and odd material related to all types of pagan spirituality and share their combined four decades of pagan experience and wisdom with all who dare venture into the Wild Wasteland.

This website also serves as a portal to our sister site, Crones of the Wild Wasteland.  Join us on January 26, 2024 when we roll out Season 4.  Below are bios of each of the contributors to the blog and co-hosts for Crones of the Wild Wasteland.

Desert Jen

The Great Basin Crone, DesertJen, has been a practicing pagan for 20 years. She does not identify with any belief system, although she feels a strong calling to explore, investigate, and practice using her Celtic roots. She also practices Kitchen and Green witchery through her love of cooking and gardening, using herbs, plants, and anything that comes from the earth in her craft. She has many hobbies, which include creating through polymer clay and her Cricut. As a grandmother, Desert Jen also has the pleasure of nurturing and caring for her grandbaby. Animals are extremely important to DesertJen, as she has an elderly lab, an old husky, and a young black Manx that is missing her tail (who keeps the old Crone on her toes!). DesertJen shares her life with her mother in the Nevada high desert of the Great Basin, where they love to watch the moon rise.

Amethyst Wollf

One of our new contributors, Amethyst Wollf is a shy and reserved until comfortable Grey Witch. They have been studying and learning The Craft since they first discovered it in their sophomore year of high school. They are ever evolving their path and constantly learning new things. As a follower of Hekate, they have gathered a lot of their knowledge about their path from solo study, but also study with a British Traditional Gardnerian Coven and have had to overcome several obstacles to be where they are today. Amethyst Wollf is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and continues to teach that those of said community have a place in every tradition. Breaking down barriers and pushing to have a place is a very important thing to them. Mental Health is also very important to them. They have found ways to overcome their own Mental Health issues through the use of Meditation and studying. You can never stop learning and that’s what being a Witch entails. Knowledge is power. They have many hobbies including conjuring up some beautiful shirts and jewelry for their small business, learning all they can about podcasts, as well as writing (or typing) for their first ever book that they want to release in the future.

Sonika

Another of our new contributors is a fellow crone, Sonika.  She has been a practicing witch for over 40 years. Even though she was born with her abilities, she freely admits she has only mastered some later in life. Sonika has been high priestess for three covens.  She follows many paths but identifies mostly with the Celtic and the Native American Red path.  She lives in the Pacific Northwest coastal region and loves to walk in nature as much as possible. She has two children and loves them both with all her heart. Sonika’s children are grown now and have lives of their own.  For the last four years she has fought and beat cancer.  She says “I’m still very much connected to the craft and to my crafty people now that I’ve got a second chance, I intend to be as crafty as I can possibly be. I guess that’s all you could say about me nice to have met you all.”

Obsidia Musette

Obsidia Musette is the other Crone that resides in the Wild Wasteland. Like DesertJen, she also has 20 years of experience as a practicing pagan. She is an Augury witch that specializes in the art of Tarot. Similar to DesertJen, she does not follow a specific spiritual path, but rather gathers wisdom from all types of belief systems and uses that to form her own special blend of witchcraft. She likes to spend her days with her husband and her fur babies, who include a Black Lab, a Golden Retriever mutt mix, a tabby Fat Cat, a black Daemon cat that belongs to her man, and little grey and white kitty who captured her heart years ago when she was born in Obsidia’s daughter’s closet. She loves to do various types of crafts and writing and spend time with her adult children, who live nearby. She has been drawn to the beauty of the high desert ever since she was a young woman and now has the pleasure and privilege of living in the Wild Wasteland in the Great Basin of Nevada. Obsidia passed over in May, 2022.
